  2. Fingers crossed!
I guess I can welcome him to the Titan Club – a world of airport beeping. Everyone I know (I can actually say “everyone”, not just “both” or “the one”) with pelvis metal implants are doing very well and have continued with their regular activities after a 6-9 month break (depending on what “regular activies” we’re talking about, it will be less time). The metal will probably be permanently fixed there, so no need to prepare for resurgery later – just start walking as soon as possible (I bet they are forcing him already if everything else has gone smoothly).

Tell him to get up from bed as soon as he can, and swallow every pill they give him to relieve the pain – no use in lying in bed in pain when he can be up and walking.

One more thing, btw, he should also be prepared to inject Klexane (blood thinners) by himself if he goes home in less than two weeks or so, so he’d better ask to train a bit before he leaves. (It’s a very thin needle, so no worries.) The feeling is weird when you’re standing with shaky knees and pains in whatever joints, counting hours between the painkillers and giving yourself an injection….
